fresh foods.
i haven't spent a lot of time at farmer's markets but the little i have, i have fallen in love. los angeles has quite a few all over the city so i was excited to find out that kc does as well. tomorrow i am planning on hitting up the old overland park farmers market. i haven't spent much time in old op so i'm excited to see what it's been up to since i've been gone. the market opens at 6:30 am to 1 pm and runs every saturday till october 27. there is one on wednesday as well but that doesn't begin till june 6. i've heard it gets crowded so we plan on going going early. apparently there is live music and sometimes cooking events are offered. hoping to find some fresh flowers for a mother's day project i am working on. after the market i hope to hit up a few places in old op. first being the tasteful olive. apparently there are over 60 oils to taste! sign me up.
second stop...and this will be a lunch stop hopefully is an old favorite papa keno's. i haven't been here in years and hope it's as good as it used to be. originally from lawrence, this pizza joint offers huge slices and you can get almost any topping you can imagine.
hoping the day won't disappoint! and also hoping i might stumble across some other hidden treasures in old op. cheers!
